What does the IRC do?
We provide information and referral services to intervention specialists for families and friends who are
looking for effective ways to confront alcohol or drug abuse and motivate abusers and addicts to change their
lives. Sympathetic and caring counselors respond to your concerns and, when appropriate, put you in touch with
a nearby qualified intervention specialist. In most cases, a professionally led addiction intervention is
successful in motivating the abuser to enter a recovery program. IRC maintains a growing list of approximately
225 intervention specialists in 44 states.
